One of the highlights of this year’s festival is the display of “Colorful Crayola® Art.” Yep, that’s right – thirty contemporary pieces of artwork made entirely from Crayola® Crayons. These are amazing and colorful sculptures by artist Herb Williams.

Herb is one of the only individuals in the world with an account with Crayola®. He uses thousands of individual crayons to create original sculptures in bright hues. One of his most recent projects is “Plunderland,” a walk-in room installation consisting of almost 500,000 crayons.

The Lubbock Arts Festival makes the arts accessible to the public through exhibits, demonstrations, and performances on three stages featuring musicians, dancers, and actors. You’ll see the work of over 200 visual artists from across the nation and enjoy music by the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra (a TCA grant recipient).

As if all that were not enough, there will be ten different KidSTOPS featuring interactive art activities for children.

The Lubbock Arts Festival is the largest fine art and fine craft show in West Texas. The festival saw record attendance last year with 28,000 individuals coming to the event including 2,500 2nd grade students from Lubbock Independent School District.
