Whether you sleep on your back, on your sideor on your stomach, your health is affected. A sleep specialist with Covenant Health System, Dr. Chris Rose, advises that of the three, on your back is the best.

That position prevents neck and back pain, reduces acid reflux and minimizes wrinkles (yea!). But, if you're a snorer, side sleeping is best. In fact, that's the next best position. Women in late pregnancy sould sleep on their left side to increase blood flow to the baby.

If you're a side sleeper, be sure to stretch your shoulders when you wake as the neck and shoulder muscles constrict as you sleep. The worst position to sleep in on your stomach as it flattens the natural curve in your lower back, distorting the alignment of the neck and spine. You actually can experience more pain with this position so, turn over, get on your back!
